The AAYA is committed to helping its members build a deeper understanding of Asia.
Its events provide opportunities to study regional issues, dive deeply into specific nations, and understand Asia's role in the modern world.
At its heart, the AAYA aims to bring together young people from across Asia and Australia!
Members have the opportunity to explore each other's cultures, share in community across borders and connect with people from the region who are passionate about the region.
AAYA events range in vision from outdoor movies and cultural festivals to book clubs and karaoke evenings!
Our Cultural Connections Pillar also reflects our commitment to contributing to community. At AAYA, we seek to provide our members with opportunities to volunteer in ways that support local communities in Australia and international work across Asia.
Part of the AAYA's mission is to connect young people with the best scholarship globally. We want our members to understand the changes taking place in Asia and Australia, including in the cultures, customs, policies, philosophies and businesses of the region.
At the same time, we work to promote rising scholars, providing a platform to connect with the visionary minds shaping the region's future.
We're forward-looking at AAYA! We know our members are eager to contribute to their own countries, make meaningful careers and bring genuine value to their workplaces. Our organisation is for both students and young professionals, and we provide unique networking opportunities, workshops to develop professional skillsets and career fairs to give students an opportunity to explore the remarkable number of professional pathways that exist in the Asia-Australia space!
We're currently developing our internship offerings and professional partnerships. 2025 is going to be action-packed at AAYA!
The AAYA was founded by students from the Australian National University, the University of Wollongong and Western Sydney University.
